In Nepal, the act of putting your hands together and saying “Namaste” is a sign of respect. The saying translates into ” I respect the God within you”.

2 porter bags outside Danaqyu. In order to make money for their family, Nepali porters carry hundreds of pounds on their back through rough terrain, high altitude and thin air. A lot of the times these young men only wear sandals and a t shirt. They are the real heros of the Himalayas.
